Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society

After an inital manga that was made into a much loved movie classic, I like this a whole heck of a lot better than Akira. Ghost in the Shell came out with a fantastic second movie and two seasons of an Anime version. The most recent release of this highly popular series is the Stand Along Complex Movie.

The events in Stand Alone Complex is an alternate universe to the 1994 and 2004 movies of Ghost in a Shell. In looking at Solid State Society, I really feel that there was a comparision to the 1994 movie, same villain names and references to Motoko’s quest to find the truth behind the net. News have been released that this is not the end for the Ghost in the Shell series, since it’s very popular….

Still I would love to see the day that Motoko and Batou get together, once again they are dropping clues and hints at the romance. Even in the Special of Innoence, they mentioned that this is the most ideal of romance, even if Motoko and Batou being nearly Cyborgs.

There was a scene in Solid State Society that actually reminded me of Matrix the movie, when the children are abducted, or how computers can actually wipe out people’s memeories.

Now if you’re confused by what the heck I’m writing around, I do that a lot. This is on the assumption that you even know somewhat of what I see. The general plot is told here.

The music for the series is by the impeccable Yoko Kanno…and the art is quite nice. This movie is not schedule to be release in the U.S. until 2007.
