Young Man – Razor Ramon HG

December 29, 2007 Leave a comment

Finally the single came. I was pretty surprised at myself for even ordering this single/DVD… but it’s all right. I didn’t really like the packaging, but I have to ignore it. I have this thing against people sweating and on the back it shows a picture of HG sweating. Kero said it probably looks like make up though, since he asked if it was glitter on his perspiration. Young Man is the Japanese version of Village People’s YMCA.

天野シロ ART WORKS KINGDOM HEARTS

December 28, 2007 Leave a comment

Yep, so this is one of my recent purchases as with some other things I purchased as well. I guess buying this is my anticipation of the next game coming out and because it is literally the first book of this video game that I believe is an art book. I had the impression the other books were strategy guides so I didn’t pay it much mind. For a peek at to what I am referring about, check this link – where there are some screen shots of the book. This art book has styles reminiscent to the graphic novels that are being published now. What I like about this book, is that there is English and Japanese text, thereby making this a semi-bilingual book. Also this book covers aspects of all three video games, Kingdom Hearts 1, Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 2, making the cost of the book worth the $37+ of it as an import.

I feel that like the imported OST’s, that there is probably a slim chance this books gets republished by an American company and even then, if this book is published, then the feel is different.

Mop Girl aka Moppu Gaaru – General Character Impressions

If only the subbing for this would be more consistent like they did with Galileo. But I will wait patiently for the episodes.. because it can then drag me on to watch more dramas as I do, just as I do for One Piece and other anime series.

I like the messages and acting in this one, although there are parts where I kinda recoil from, such as whatever is Momoko’s fascination with buffed up chests. I hope they explain it later. I have never seen Kitagawa Keiko in any other drama, although I do have her one other drama.. Sailor Moon.. if only I can pull myself away and watch the damn thing.. without shuddering then I would.

I’ve never found time travel dramas as interesting, but with Galileo ending soon in being subbed, I need to find something to keep me occupied.

CLAMP in Wonderland 1 and 2

December 24, 2007 Leave a comment

Well I finally got to see CLAMP in Wonderland 2 and I am not disappointed. It’s very cute.. now I don’t know which version do I like of the CLAMP music videos. They’re both so nice.. while the first music video has a better song, or is it because I heard the song longer? CLAMP in Wonderland 2 is an updated version of CLAMP works, which I am happy to say.. they included animated characters of what never made it into full anime series, like Clover, Legal Drug or, Suki, or even the Snow Maiden one.

This music video featured on the Mokona’s – Black and White ones making a trip through portals to visit world where the other CLAMP creations reside. There are two noteworthy scenes that had me saying, “Awwww…” Those are, the scene with Chobits cast, and then the Card Captor Sakura cast and then the Tsubasa Chronicles cast right after. Nice comparisons.

I betcha people would ask me why I wouldn’t go nuts over Clover, when for a long time that was a fave manga of mine, I figure because I saw the Clover music video, which is very much like the Wish music video that I am very happy to see it all the same.

CLAMP as I grew up, is really the best in doing crossovers with their mangas and anime works.. this is just great all the way around. Let’s see this is the song from the show by Maaya Sakamoto – Action and this is from the first music video by Junko Hirotani.

I wonder if I should do an upload for the music videos themselves, since I know there’s already copies of it out there on the internet. Any comments?

Yama Onna Kabe Onna

December 6, 2007 Leave a comment

Just finished watching this drama… I was actually very surprised it went to 12 episodes.. it is an okay drama.. with the theme of a big breast woman against a thin chest woman. This was the first drama I can say that I ever heard of Japanese having different dialects. I guess you learn something new every time you watch something. What made me continue to watch this story was because of Ito Misaki and Oikawa Mitsuhiro.

Oh not them as a couple.. but their acting that is.. I haven’t seen Ito Misaki since Maison Ikkoku SP and I wanted to see more of her roles other than Densha Otoko. Her being a strong and determine woman is pretty refreshing.

Now why would I mention Oikawa Mitsuhiro? I honestly don’t know.. somehow his acting and maybe looks appeal.. I’ve seen him in about 3-4 other dramas and so far.. he always seems to be the supporting and never the main. I mean Oyaji, maybe he’s the secondary lead… but somehow his looks and styles seems to be interesting to watch.

Galileo – Impressions of guests stars – Part 2

December 6, 2007 Leave a comment

I saw it.. well this is going to be a short entry.. since I only watched the 7th episode of Galileo.. but this episode was so surprising that my mouth dropped opened. So far there’s no sparks other than the normal between the two leads.. although I know the female is feeling something for the professor. It was very apparent in the boxing gym…

Seeing Fukada Kyoko’s character in this episode was such a direct contrast to the other two dramas I watched her in.. where she acted the ditz. Other than the fact that Galileo is much more serious than the other dramas. I didn’t realized she could pull the money grubbing fortune hunter that well.. in essence she was the villian for this episode.. which could only reflect my shock.

Next episode, the guest star would be Shaku Yumiko, whom I really like in Himitsu no Hanazono. Wonder how her role would be like, would it be really surprising or something else entirely. Also I saw her in a raw episode of Hataraki Man and I didn’t even recognize her, she was a guest in episode 2, and she cut her hair to a pixie cut. So until I saw the previews in Galileo and heard the tone of voice.. did I actually recognize Sahku Yumiko… nice..

Galileo – Impressions of guests stars

December 1, 2007 Leave a comment

This is such a good series…. the episodes are interesting.. on air chemistry is good between the two leads… and many many celebrity guests… well celebrity for me.. since there is a lot of other dramas that they’ve done that I have seen them in. I truly am tempted to move this up the ranks as a series I really like, but I can’t other than labeling it as a current series I really like since I don’t know the conclusion of this series yet.

I decided to write a bit on guest stars that I know and my impressions of their roles.

Katori Shingo – Never thought I’ll see him in a villain role, while I know he likes to stand out and take on different kinds of roles… this was a definite surprise for me to see him in such.

Horikita Maki – I was kinda annoyed by the one dimensional depth of her character- she didn’t have much lines to begin with, but then I believe from seeing her in Nobuto wo Produce and Deru Toko Demasho! I believed I expected more.

There are other guest characters that I have seen before, however I can’t really say my knowledge of them can be anything but just from the one or two times I have seen them in stuff. I do know that I am very excited to see Fukada Kyoko in the next episode..

Reminds me that I really want to finish watching Yama Onna Kabe Onna. Hmm.. On a side note I want to see Orange Days with Shibasaki Kou in it soon…. I can’t help but compare her with that initial role I saw her in… hmm… she’s getting older that’s for sure..
