One Piece: Episode of Chopper + Fuyu ni Saku, Kiseki no Sakura (Movie 9)

All right.. all right..graduate school, and trying to live have sucked all my inspiration to write much on the One Piece topic, so I must push myself to write more of this series.

Recently I was able to watch the 9th movie of One Piece, and that was an interesting ride. Chopper is one of my favorite characters…and a retelling of his story as a movie, and there are several noticeable differences. There are Robin, Franky, and Thousand Sunny in this journey. Nami is sick, and Robin takes over the role of what Vivi did in the TV series.

Wapol in the beginning of the movie, like the TV series has abandoned the Drum Kingdom, but there’s no Wapol Pirates. Instead he goes and picks up his older brother, Musshuru (original character) who was exiled from the Drum Kingdom after his own Devil Fruit Powers goes awry. His pores can release poison..

Dalton doesn’t appear to have any Devil Fruit in this movie, as the movie itself is drawn with fleshed out parts, that were glanced over in the TV series.

I always end up watching this story, crying a lot… well most of the One Piece character’s back stories has that effect. I was speaking with a friend, and was trying to compare which character had the saddest back story, with Chopper in the front. Probably Robin, but then Nami and Franky’s back stories are also quite sad as well..

I also got the word of there being a 10th original One Piece movie, due Spring, 2009. Pretty exciting news.
