Recently I was staring at my lists of drafts, and a majority of those entries are things I began when I was in Japan. One of these years, need to finish writing about my Japan trip.. even a loot entry is eventually fine. Well Japan trip is going to be started after I finish ever going through all my images on Flickr. For my sporadic updates or not, probably people should count that as an abandoned entries or images right. But for me, those are memories I wish I had more motivation to finish through. But enough about blog/writing complaining.
For classic anime fans, they should know this title. City Hunter, which is a series that was popular during the latter part of the 80’s and early 90’s. Jackie Chan and Michael Chow did Hong Kong live live action remakes of this title. I also know that South Korea brought the rights for producing this work, although not sure if the project began or not.
I was able to pick up Sound Collection X and Y during my trip. Sound Collection Y- I found in BookOff was what set it off, and Sound Collection X is something I ordered from Amazon.co.jp, and it got to me pretty fast. I have seen these cds in NYC Kinokuniya a long while ago, I lost the opportunity to purchase them, so you can say I snatched them up when I was in Japan.
Sound Collection are both are two-disc cds editions. There are some duplicates if you ever picked up any of City Hunter’s cds/soundtracks. But I found as a collector, that these two cds actually summed up the music of the anime series pretty well.
Sound Collection X has all the openings and endings of all of the anime, and movies vocals. Listening to this soundtrack reminds me of a similar feel in older music, a majority of the tracks had a action beat to them. Like Angel Night~天使のいる場所~(PSY-S). Some are pretty tracks, no other words to describe it. The lyrics are quite pretty. A majority of them are also great listening music. I really like ~MORE MORE しあわせ(荻野目洋子) which was the theme for Million Dollar Conspiracy. They are also pretty dated, since the music at the 80’s to 90’s was pretty techno-ish. SUPER GIRL(岡村靖幸) or ~SMILE & SMILE(AURA) or ~STILL LOVE HER(失われた風景)(TM Network) fit into that category.
Sound Collection Y, has a majority of the insertion tracks. There are instrumentals, English vocals. My favorite would have to be Nina, since it was part of the.357 Magnum movie, which was my first encounter with this series.
I still have to collect Sound Collection Z, which is a drama cd. I will leave you with a youtube clip of Nina to listen to.
Okay… I haven’t written anything on One Piece in such a long time.. I was so surprised to see this single in Kinokuniya, that I snatched it up along with other things, that I would definitely want to blog about.. as I do gush about things I collect, as well as any female anime lover can!
Okay so the single has six tracks,
1: Binks no Sake
2:Shiawase no Kuroi Handkerchief
3: A Thousand Dreamers
4: Binks no Sake Instrumental
5: Shiawase no Kuroi Handkerchief Instrumental
6: A Thousand Dreamers Instrumental
Binks no Sake, which is Brook’s favorite song… there is also Shiroi no Hankerchief, which is just funny. Wish there was the sound effects from the anime to complete the joke. Then the last song is a Mugiwara Kaizoku-dan group song, much like Ore tachi wa Family, to sing about Thousand Sunny and to reaffirm their dreams. Pretty happy!
Okay to order this cd, the catalog number is AVCA-29168
Everyone knows that the movies made by Hayao Miyazaki is phenomenal, and the studio that he formed is just as phenomenal. I heard of the release of this double cd from my reader weeks ago, and to say that I wanted to get it was without any questions. Oh there is a minor feeling of annoyance, because after all there’s this cd that was release back in 1997 – but what can I say if there is the need to make money – hence there’s the release of Ghibli no Uta, with an additional ten songs from that original 16 tracks.
I purchased this the same time as I did with the Ah My Goddess artbook, and I am by no means not disappointed at all. I would definitely recommend fans alike of Studio Ghibli to get this cd, since there are the themes from My Neighbor the Yamadas, The Cat Returns, Ponyo on the Cliff, Legend of Earth Sea, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle.
Inside the booklet are the lyrics with all of the song, pictures of the movie posters for each song, and original pictures from the calender releases that I see annually. The cd’s roughly around $35 and the Catalog number is TKCA-73381.
I recently acquired this limited edition CD/DVD, and I can say that it is really good. I started to like Mell, from when she sang the theme song to Black Lagoon. I just thought, that she has a rich vibrant voice. So let’s just say I snapped up the cd when I saw it at Kino. For this cd, there are songs that remind me of Nightwish or Evanescence songs, and and the DVD is interesting as well. It showed of Mell’s trip of actually traveling to Paris to film images provided for this CD/DVD as well as scenery for the pv of the song Scope.
The pv for no vain- another side, also reminded me acutely of Madonna’s Frozen MV.

Finally the single came. I was pretty surprised at myself for even ordering this single/DVD… but it’s all right. I didn’t really like the packaging, but I have to ignore it. I have this thing against people sweating and on the back it shows a picture of HG sweating. Kero said it probably looks like make up though, since he asked if it was glitter on his perspiration. Young Man is the Japanese version of Village People’s YMCA.
Even if the quality of the video definitely stinks in the live performance of Suara, it was what made me really like the sub-theme of Utawarumono.. now as I got the cd… it is such a disappointment… too many music side effects effectively covering up the lovely voice that she has.
Catalog Number is avaliable here, I just got this cd yesterday or an album of it to listen to and I actually like it. This cd is filled with piano music of every episode with the liquer name and everything. What I really liked was the Cinderella track, very waltz like. Reminds me that I would probably go and pay for dance lessons again in my life. I really would like to waltz. Now if only I can get the OP and ED to listen to then that would be perfect. I already got Primo Passo to listen to… hmm….
