Impressions of Saki – Mah Jong anime – 1

April 11, 2009 1 comment

Okay.. that is it..!!!! I don’t know whether or not to be peeved or not.. but what the hell… blushing lolitas!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that suppose to be funny!!!!

sagi-1

There has been that stream of gaming anime ever since Hikaru no Go with Go, Shion no Ou with Shougi, and while there is the Akagi with mah jong, this is the first time I think I saw school type animes with trying to make the game popular.

Personally I love to play mah jong with my friends, while we don’t follow the rules… it is kinda interesting to watch this anime.

sagi-2

I just don’t know if I will be able to handle the blushing girls any more than I have to… there is also some fan service that I see in this one, that makes me wondering if I can handle the kawaii girls, that Japanese otaku’s seem to favor or not.

[Announcement] Anime Girls Featurette

January 10, 2009 2 comments

This idea has been on my draft list for quite a while. Seeing that since this is the new year, am going to start a new feature… on personal favorites on singers, actors, actresses, anime boys, anime girls. That sort of topic. Currently completing a similar feature on bl couples on fujochic now.

female

This feature can be redundant idea, but I have seen it done on FuyuMaiden’s blog, seeing that her blog includes a countdown of her top 10 anime girls, I decided to do one of my own. Not as extensive as her’s, so go and read of her list. I am just going to list my top five to six anime girls… and include pictures with reasons why I like them. My criteria for liking them is usually if I find that their personality is something I can relate too… and *cough* *cough* some of my real life friends, would say that it is pretty contradictory to how I am.

One Piece: Thriller Bark Arc Impressions

December 26, 2008 Leave a comment

After countless episodes, where I did not cover the arc at all…here’s a stab at my impressions, before they grow stale. I am not going to cover the entire series, but give stabs and jabs at them. I expect that either the person who would read this, is either a fan and have seen the series like I have.. or not.. there is always Wikipedia, as a friend of mine points out.

The anime covers Thriller Bark from episode 337-377. I am including when they enter Thriller Bark, to where Zoro takes a stand against Bartholomew Kuma. This is an arc that basically had no ending theme, but recently has began a new theme song, a remix of “We Are“… after 10+ episodes of listening to “Jungle P.”

zoro-sacrafice

I looked at the entry and thought that it looked a little too bleak, so I stuck in one of my favorite screen shots.. can anyone figure out which part this is?

In the Thriller Bark arc, the Mugiwara Kaizoku-dan find themselves against one of the 7 warlords, Gecko Moria – who has the devil fruit powers to steal shadows, and with the assistance of Dr. Hogback, enlivens corpses (zombies) as minions. Moria uses his power to steal Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Robin’s shadows. The rundown of who the crew fought in this arc.

Chopper – Dr. Hogback
Ussop- Perona
Zoro- Ryuuma
Nami – Absalom
Sanji- Absalom
Luffy – Oz

Robin, Franky and Brooks were around, but they didn’t have any major enemies to face, so they stood and help.

There was this one particular episode where the crew was fighting against Oz, while waiting for Luffy; Franky was with Usopp and Chopper. They wanted to merge together, much like a mobile suit with Franky as the heart. Sanji and Zorro were the legs, Chopper was the helmet. Robin and Ussop were the arms…and Robin refused to join them saying it was too ugly to picture it… even Oz was sad that the attack didn’t happen. That was a truly funny scene.

Toward the end of the arc, in the post fight scene Brook recounts his past, and it was pretty sad. Next arc will probably be when they meet up with Right now the crew is on route to the Mermaid island. The last episode I saw brought the return of Foxy the Silver Fox.. what a nuisance.. >_<

The next major arc is the Sabaody Archipelago arc.

Chi’s Sweet Home – First Four Japanese Episodes Free

September 10, 2008 Leave a comment

Okay, this might be late news for all the ANN blog readers, but I found out about this news… well today.

First four episodes about wandering kitten streamed online until December 3

The Animate.tv website is streaming the first four three-minute episodes of Chi’s Sweet Home anime for free in Japanese. (In the linked page, select the orange button for each episode. Recent versions of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player are required for digital rights management.) The anime adapts Kanata Konami‘s manga about a kitten who gets separated from her mother and siblings, and then gets adopted by a new human family.

Well I watched 78 episodes of this so far, and have brought over $60 worth of merchandise, but this series is so cute..that I have to say it rocks!

Anime College years

August 4, 2008 2 comments

Ahhh.. this draft has been on my wordpress account for several months now. Just had to add coding and write some thoughts. Also need to prep for Otakon 2008 and one thing also is to try and clear my blog reader… still 1000+ posts over the mark.. so occasionally leaving comments on other people’s blogs.

This is coming to a near closure in posts for this memory walk, might do another recap several years from now.

At undergrad college, I spent four years away from my mom’s house, upstate with my first personal desktop computer. So at a college environment with high speed internet and no anime club in sight. What else was I to do with keeping my head into the anime stuff. Read more…
