If I don’t end up running round and round like I do for a lot of other cons. Here’s tentative plans for NYCC 2011. There’s a lot of overlap, and so I might be changing this even up to on the day of the event.

So this time is getting on for NYAF again.. Well it merged with NYCC -so that’s NYCC/NYAF.. since the schedule is out.. and I probably am going to plan it to the point.. then this is a tentative schedule of what panels I want to probably go and check out… sooo.. this is not even a final schedule. I will have to try to update my phone…. soon. So I will be mostly live tweeting things that I see and do while I am on the convention floor. Plus have some other gadgets so we shall have to see then.

NYCC One Year Party Recap…

Yesterday night, NYCC was hosting a one year party for next year’s NYCC at Bowlmar Lanes down near Union Square. I RSVP, and it was an venue to be at if you wanted to hear the official announcement for the first guests of honor next year. There was some free bowling, and an open bar.

There was a huge crowd there, and on the screens were screen caps of this year’s show. There was also a raffle. Everyone was with friends, so it seemed odd to be a lone person there, still the night was young.

So I mingled and moved around. Got white wine spilled on me.. and that was that. Had soda to drink for the rest of the night.

Yes the guest of honors, unless you haven’t check out the NYCC blog or the Twitters, that I saw NYCC twitter did, as well as I did myself. John Romita SR and JR of Spiderman notoriety.

I ended not getting home until near midnight.

NYCC is an event I find interesting because there are paranormal publishers there, that have books other than comic. I went to this event with the intention of doing some publicity work for JLHLS. Did some advertising.

Makes an self-affirmation as to why I prefer to be a press, than just a fan. If I was a fan, there doesn’t seem to be any point, other than gush on it, but at least if I was press – then there’s a reason for why I do somethings.

Comics unfortunately I don’t read much of – basics on the fact of the art and the length of the series. Archie is the only comic I was a slight fan of.

Still I got to meet hang out with some friends, meet an awesome librarian trainingto be, and bunped into a random friend on the streets of Union Square.

• Got sidetracked by Sakurai Sho fan craze, waited for three hours on foot. Was not lucky to see him. Learned my lesson and for the rest of the convention avoided the big superstar events like mad – ie… Seth Green, Joss Whedon, Joshua Jackson
• Attended two panels – News Flash Teen Girls Read Manga, New York City Through its Authors
• Camera was knocked onto ground, by another person…
• Surprised, but saw Bill Evans, Eyewitness’s NYC meteorologist.

• Camera was knocked into and fell… broke, so some technical difficulties with camera.
• Hung out in the dealers room some more.
• Watched the only movie preview in Pixar’s Up.

• Went to B&H and replaced the entire camera before going to the con.

Have to show what I purchased of Zoro, which was an unexpected purchase. Still on the look out for adding Robin, Brooks, and some other as well to my small One Piece figure Collection.

With my friend,there will also be a more official con report at JLHLS, but this is just my own thoughts for the moment. Pretty happy, and very exhausted from my recent excursion to NYCC 2009, but man are my wallets empty for the moment.

[NYCC] Planning out my schedule for NYCC 2009

Since I am a New York Native, I don’t really have to worry about hotel stay and all that.. but still need to plan out my schedule. Figrue I’ll do it here.. so I am armed with my handy dandy new digital camera… and a notebook and I am off and running.

This is still a unfinished thing I must look through and edit on… so it is still a wip that can change up to the very last second. There are also dealer’s room time that I did not put in.. so much schedule some time for that as well.

Okay… I am going to NYCC as press for JLHLS, but now I realized, from NYCC last year with TMR, what a publicity venue this would be for both American, and Japanese stars… this is making my heart go all aflutter… have to stop and focus… ack… >_<

I don’t care about the American/Western aspect of the con… but just news of Sakurai Sho going to be at NYCC is making my Celebrity watch radar go mad.
